Okay, I had this long ranty post wherein I called into question the intelligence and parentage of the previous owner of my condo because of his Home Improvement Skillz. Or rather, the lack of them. The problem this time is the fact that none of the closet doors work. The new carpet interferes with the tracks, and instead of replacing the tracks like he should have, he did some half-assed repair job, in once case, using a hacked off piece of a yardstick in order to get them to work enough. They don't work, though, or not if you want to open and close them on a regular basis. They close well enough if you're willing to leave them that way, but I like to get at the stuff I've put in my closets, so that's not enough for me.

I've already decided to put curtains over the closet in my bedroom (easier to be sure that the monsters can't hide in there) and the hallway, but now it looks like I'll have to put up curtains for the pantry and the washer/dryer alcove. Would that look totally stupid? If I had curtains up all over my place, would you think I was retarded? I definitely don't want to go through the trouble of fixing the tracks correctly and buying new doors (which I think would be required to do this right) because I'd eventually like to put down wood floors, and then I'd have to fix the tracks yet again. Well, that and the fact that I really hate folding doors anyway.
