Now that roller derby has exploded all over the nation, it's harder to find good deals on skates, since retailers know that we'll pay good money.
Amazon.com almost ruined Christmas. The stuff that I ordered (which made up like 90% of the gifts I am giving this year) wasn't even going to be shipped until after Christmas, even though I ordered with plenty of time, so I cancelled the whole shebang. Instead, I bought "backup" gifts at a local retailer that happens to be co-owned by a rollergirl. They're still lovely, but not the very thoughtful gifts I picked out for everyone on my list. Christmas cards are trickling out, so you might get yours a bit late, depending on when I have time to sit down and do them.
