Sensitivity can be an asset, but not when it makes you crazy over every little thing people say about you. Maybe I should have said: Try to be less neurotic.
Oh gawd, me too. 2 things happened last night, one so subtle it probably was nothing at all and I woke up thinking about it and it's eating away at me. On small insignificant look from someone and I have this whole story raging up in my head.
Seriously, offhand comments can send me into a shame spiral for DAYS. I need to learn to let stuff not bug me all the time. If you ever figure out the secret, let me know, okay?
Everytime I think of doing something like this, I recall that line from "Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen/the Tribune-writer's-advice-to-grads" that says: Remember compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
