Someone took my mug; the one that I use for my hot cereal or tea. I brought it in to work myself, which is why I'm irritated about it. I know it's not a big deal, but it was annoying to have nothing to make my Cream of Wheat in this morning. I hope someone returns it to the kitchen area.

Last night while making lunch for today and a snack before practice, I sliced through my pointer finger with the serrated bread knife. It wasn't deep or big enough to need stitches, but I did bleed all over the place, and it made finishing making my lunch difficult. I dripped blood on the piece of garlic bread I was going to eat, but I just cut off the affected bit, toasted it and ate it anyway. I was hungry, and headed out to practice so I needed to eat something. The only bandages I have are from Archie McPhee, so I've covered up my wound with tikis. I think it makes it more interesting.

[livejournal.com profile] mommacherry lent me her copy of The Dirt, the Motley Crue memoir. I couldn't get to sleep after skating, so I read the first few chapters and didn't want to stop. I knew that I'd be miserable this morning if I didn't though, so I dutifully but the book down and went to sleep. It's a fun book, and I'm looking forward to reading it more.

I can't believe that it's only Thursday. This week seems interminable.

I *loved* The Dirt. I borrowed someone's copy in July and am having a hard time bringing myself to return it. Though by the end, all I wanted to do was give Nikki and Mick big hugs and tell them everything was going to be all right.

How would you compare it to The Heroin Diaries?

I liked it way more than the Heroin Diaries. My problem with the Heroin Diaries is that you read that day's entry, and then Nikki or other people mentioned in the entry will comment on it, and it's really jarring, which makes it hard to get into. Especially in the case of Vanity (Now the Reverend Denise SomethingOrOther)--her commentary is ridiculously preachy in the way only born-agains can be.

The Dirt has a much better flow, even between chapters written by different band members. I suspect heavy editing, but regardless, it works and works well.
